is a joy to hear how varied Mr. Madsen's talents really are.

I'll let
the lyrics speak for themselves. The recording of the piece
was exhilarating. Our studio was way out in the countryside
NE of Seattle, and the day outside was sunny and cloudless.
The Djembe players took their drums outside, mics were set up,
shirts taken off, sticks from nearby trees were stripped of
their bark and used as beaters. Sweat was flying, as I was indoors
at the B3 and the piano, playing the chords and holding the
structure. The sound of the drums echoed off the cliffs of the
nearby river. It was powerful, really helped the song reach
it's full expression.
