Every quarter-inch measured on the door jamb, every increase in shoe size felt like wonderful accomplishments. I longed for the day when I could finally BE a Grown-Up. But as I achieved adulthood, gaining hair in some places, losing it in others, I just never FELT like a grown-up. That sense of Grown-Upness I’d yearned for never came. The big surprise? I LIKE feeling like a kid all the time! I still get the biggest thrill from learning new things. I like Growing!
